Business Department Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting

29 Years of Excellence Recognized
Posted on 10/02/2017
District personnel were recognized in a recent School Board Meeting for receiving the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 29th year in a row. The award presented by Louisiana Association of School Business Officials International recognizes the hard work and professionalism of our Business Department in presenting the 2015-16 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

The report, completed each December for the previous fiscal year ending June 30, takes months of preparation. Not only is the financial position of the district represented, the report also updates economic indicators for our area, summarizes major initiatives in the system, recognizes employee and student honors for the year, and highlights student artwork throughout the report.

Director of Business, Juanita Duke, praised her team, "It takes a lot to close out a year and pull together this report and the audit. Truthfully, it is a year-long process and would not be possible without the hard work of this team who are all a part of making this report a success."

The Ouachita Parish School Board has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from both the Government Finance Officers Association and the Association of School Business Officials International every year since 1988. Congratulations!
