Under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), our school has been designated as struggling school because our school earned a score for one or more student sub-groups that is equivalent to an “F” for at least two years. This sub-group was our Special Education students. We have been designated as an UIR-A school: Urgent Intervention Required Academics. Schools that meet these criteria are required to identify strategies for improvement as part of the school system planning process. Due to this label, a comprehensive plan has been developed based on state guidelines.
